Judy Niemeyer's Rocky Mountain Bear Claw Table Runner

Instructor: Melanie Castle
Class Fee: $120 (Includes all three class sessions!)
Class Dates & Times:  Fridays, August 17, September 14 and October 19, 10:30 - 5:30.
Table Runner Size:  72 x 21 inches
Pillow Size:  20 inches square

Description:  We’re kind of in love with this Table Runner pattern. It has a very Northwestern vibe … a hint of Native America and a bit of the Wild Wild West with a suggestion of the Orient. We can see it as a fireworks display or a Ninja Death Star or a prickly cactus flower … perhaps even a thistle? It expresses the turbulent power of a tornado or hurricane or the, more gentle, spin of a snow flurry. Let your color selections tell the story.

The table runner pattern includes enough of Judy Niemeyer’s pattern papers to make a table runner and two pillows. We think these would make wonderful holiday gifts and summer is a great time to start adding to your stash of holiday gifts! We’re hoping someone will create this pattern with our shimmery gold William Morris Christmas Collection. It brings to mind the pop and excitement of a Christmas Cracker!

The Table Runner class is a great introduction to Judy Niemeyer’s paper piecing techniques. The class stands alone but it is also an excellent option for quilters wanting to try out a Judy Niemeyer pattern on a small project, then progress to a larger, more complex pattern.

The class is taught in three monthly sessions, each focusing on the techniques necessary to complete a design element. You will have plenty of class time to learn and practice the necessary techniques with Melanie and time at home to complete each section before moving on to the next feature.

What You Will Learn in This Class:  Paper Foundation Piecing Techniques: Stacking and Cutting, Floating Points, and Project Organization, as well as, Traditional Quilt Construction Techniques.

Melanie is a certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor. The instructor training is rigorous and intense, requiring the completion of several Judy Niemeyer quilts and attendance at Judy’s instructor seminars in Montana. Melanie is both skilled and delightful. We think you will enjoy working with her to complete your project.
